Job Title: Upper School Spanish Teacher and ELL Program Services Provider Location: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND)-Brighton, CO FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Dean of Student Services Work Hours/Days: 195 days following the school year calendar, usually from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; up to 30 hours per week Desired Start Date : August 2026 Wage Range: $26-28 per hour Position Summary: Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver (ACAND) is hiring a part-time Spanish Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position involves teaching 1 section of Spanish to high school students, as well as providing services for the English-language learners program. Ascent Classical of Northern Denver is a growing school, offering grades K-10 for the 2026-2027 school year with plans to expand to K-12 by adding one grade per year. We seek teachers with high standards of excellence, a professional demeanor, a warm rapport with students, clear communication with parents, and a can-do attitude to join our team. The ideal candidate will be organized and devoted to helping students grow in wisdom and virtue. Essential Functions: Prepare unit and lesson plans for Spanish Language in alignment with Hillsdale College's K12 Program Guide for each school year Provide small group services to English Language Learners Teach and mentor students, utilizing classical pedagogy methods Assign, collect, grade, and return graded work in a timely manner Monitor student progress and self-evaluate how best to support effective student learning Identify struggling or advanced students to provide additional support or academic extensions Collaborate with Students Services team to meet requirements of special educational plans, such as IEPs, 504s, and others Communicate regularly, usually weekly, with parents Assist in daily operations of the school (e.g., taking attendance, supervising student arrivals, passing periods in hallways, lunchtime and recess supervision) on a shared schedule Participate in professional development as offered by ACAND and Hillsdale College's K12 Office Maintain confidentiality in student records Promote a collegial, professional relationship with students, parents, and colleagues as a partner in the community of learners Requirements: Dedication to the mission and vision of Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Denver Commitment to high moral character necessary to sustain ordered liberty and constitutional self-government Bachelor's degree in Spanish, Classical Studies, English, or a related field, or equivalent experience (Teaching license NOT required).
