About our local organization: You'll be joining our Aurora Software
and Electronics/Payloads Department which has ~200 Software
Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database
Administrators, Network Engineers, and Engineering Leaders from
entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects to
Product Owners and Scrum Masters. This engineering organization
supports numerous programs across Business Units and Operating
Units of the NG Space Systems Sector. We have opportunities for
career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership
positions over one’s career. About the program: This is an
on-contract program supporting a critical national security mission
spanning both development and operational phases. It is powered by
the Data Management team, headquartered in Aurora, CO, with team
members distributed across various Northrop Grumman locations and
partner company sites nationwide. The team comprises approximately
40 engineering professionals focused on delivering mission-critical
solutions. Our team structure includes agile Scrum teams led by
dedicated Product Owners and Scrum Masters, alongside a Site
Reliability Engineering group supporting operational needs. In
Aurora, most staff collaborate in shared workspaces with individual
cubicle-like setups in an uncleared office environment. Once fully
program-cleared, employees gain access to a high-side integration,
testing, and deployment lab. This program prides itself on a

the job : As a Data Engineer (within the Software Engineer job
family) the Data Management team, you will contribute to the
design, development, and delivery of software applications through
a fast-paced CI/CD pipeline into production. You’ll work as part of
a small, agile Scrum team, collaborating closely with like-skilled
peers to drive impactful solutions. Your core responsibilities will
include: Pipeline Execution: Designing, coding, testing, and
deploying production-grade data pipelines to ensure reliable and
efficient data workflows. Data Modeling: Translating high-level
design specifications into effective data models and structures,
ensuring seamless implementation of data solutions for space
command and control systems. Data Reliability: Monitoring pipeline
performance, resolving production issues, and applying necessary
fixes to maintain high data availability and accuracy for
downstream analytics and reporting. Business Translation:
Partnering with Software Architects and customers to understand
mission needs, translating complex space system requirements into
actionable data and analytics solutions. Basic Qualifications: Sr
Principal Level 4 : Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an
accredited university with 8 years of related experience; or a
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of experience, or
PhD with 4 years of experience. Active TOP SECRET (TS) security
clearance at the time of application Ability to obtain SCI
clearance (not required to start) Ability to pass a
Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly) (not required to start)
Experience developing data management solutions with Java and
Python Deep understanding of mathematical models Experience and
ability to apply algorithms to solve real world problems Experience
developing production software in an agile development lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance at the time of
application Prior working experience in space systems, intelligence
operations, battle management and/or command and control systems At
least 6 years of agile software development experience Experience
developing applications on Linux based operating systems Strong
analytical, problem-solving, testing, and troubleshooting skills
Ability to quickly move from prototypes to operational capabilities
Ability to effectively communicate and present to program
management and customers Ability to effectively write technical
documentation Ability to travel (very limited, up to 10%) Primary
Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00 The above salary
range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman
considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers
such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the
candidate's experience, education, skills and current market
conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible
for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance
