Qualifications This position supports the mission of
Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center of optimizing quality of life
of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on
medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Assists the
Physician in performing diagnostic and interventional
cardiovascular procedures. When the need arises, will perform other
duties as assigned. - Works independently within our cardiovascular
team philosophy. - Communicates knowledgeably, timely, and
professionally with patients (and patient families), co-workers,
healthcare colleagues, and physicians. - Able to work in and
display critical thinking abilities in stressful situations. -
Available to fulfill the department requirements of being on-call
for after hours emergency procedures and be within the required
thirty minute response time. Is physically able to meet the job
requirements: - Perform effective CPR. - Physically move procedural
equipment. - Patient transport in a cart / bed. - Assist in bed to
bed patient transport. - Able to stand for prolonged periods of
time during a procedure wearing a leaded apron. - Able to see and
manipulate interventional equipment in dimly lit procedural suite.
- Has patient assessment knowledge and ability. - Is self motivated
to learn what is necessary to fulfill the requirements of various
positions in the cardiovascular lab. - Has knowledge of the
principles of scrubbing, imaging and hemodynamic monitoring
techniques in all invasive procedures. - Operates specialized
equipment and monitors patient to provide physiologic and
hemodynamic data; views EKG and intracardiac pressures; adjusts
imaging equipment as needed, analyzes and calculates hemodynamic
data. - Efficiently and appropriately assists physician during
procedure providing proper equipment, maintaining sterile field and
anticipating needs. What qualifications you will need: Education: -
BLS & ACLS certification required & PALS certification within 6
months of hire. Licensure/Certification/Registration: -
Registration as ARRT, or certification as RCIS or RCIS eligible.
Experience: - Two years experience in interventional radiology
procedures or must have 2 years CV Lab experience or graduated from
a nationally accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Program and
is eligible for the RCIS credentialing. Special Qualifications: -
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families,
physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to work
with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong
