Job Title: Travel RN - BMT Oncology Profession: RN Specialty: Bone Marrow Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: Chemo/Bio therapy provider card through ONS ACLS BLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: This position is for a travel RN specializing in Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology. The unit typically accommodates 80-100 patients daily. There are 37 RNs on staff, consisting of full-time, part-time, and PRN. The nursing team includes 2 charge RNs, 1 resource RN, 2 medical assistants, and 16-19 RNs taking patient assignments. Patient ratios can reach 1:6, with fewer patients assigned for higher acuity cases. Equipment used in the unit includes Baxter IV pumps and ICU medical chemotherapy adapters. The electronic medical records systems in use are Meditech and OncoEMR. Candidates should be familiar with chemotherapy administration and central line draws. The ideal candidates are outgoing, personable, and warm. This is the 15th largest transplant center in the nation. The center participates in many phase 1 and first-in-human clinical trials and is rapidly growing its CAR T program. Candidates with prior BMT and HemOnc experience will be preferred.
